Want to Speak at MTP Engage Manchester? Apply for Free Training in Public Speaking

Hopefully you’ve heard the news; MTP Engage Manchester will be back on 6th and 7th February 2020 – and even better than before!

Last year, we had a fabulous array of speakers (you can see some of their talks here), ranging from voices from our local ProductTanks to internationally renowned speakers. All last year’s talks went down a storm; you told us you thought the speaking line-up was top-notch and we’re determined to do even better this year.

A Keynote From Lauren Currie

Janna Bastow, John Cutler, and Joe Leech will be gracing the main stage at the Manchester Central in February, and we’ll be announcing more speakers in the coming weeks. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Lauren Currie will be joining Janna, John, and Joe as a keynote speaker.

Lauren Currie, MD of NOBL

Lauren is a London-based designer and entrepreneur. She is MD, UK, and Europe, of change management consultants NOBL. She’s also a founder of #UPFRONT, an organisation that tackles the lack of diversity and accessibility on conference stages around the world. Last year she was awarded an OBE for her services to design and diversity. Lauren is new to the Mind the Product stage, but by no means new to delivering amazing talks!

Lauren’s commitment to championing new voices through her #UPFRONT work has inspired us to join forces with her to make the MTP Engage Manchester stage as inclusive and welcoming as possible. We want YOU to take the leap to share your product stories, and bring them to the MTP Engage stage.

Three Ways you can get Involved

  1. At next year’s conference, Lauren will be #UPFRONT; during her keynote talk, she’ll be sharing the stage with a selection of conference attendees who’ll sit on the #UPFRONT couch, which is placed on the conference stage. Sitting on the couch allows you to experience what it’s like to be on stage without any pressure to perform – a great grounding for those of you who would like to give a talk but don’t feel ready to. You can see what sitting #UPFRONT looks like in action here and you’ll be invited to apply to sit #UPFRONT nearer the conference.
  2. We’re encouraging aspiring speakers to take to the stage at MTP Engage, and we’ll help you to get there! We’re looking for 3 product people to work closely with Lauren before the event through a series of workshops and coaching. Everyone’s welcome to apply! Apply or nominate someone here (applications are open until 17th August) – if you’d like to apply to speak at MTP Engage Manchester in the usual way then our Call for Speakers is open until Friday, 13th September.
  3. On 6th Feb, we’re hosting a one-day #UPFRONT workshop for self-identifying women. For more information and to buy tickets, click here. If you buy a ticket for the workshop and then are successful in applying for the coaching mentioned in #2, then we’ll refund your workshop ticket.

That’s it. Of course, we are always keen to hear new voices at ProductTank Manchester too – get in touch with us here to get your speaking journey started!

General Release, team discount, and workshop tickets for MTP Engage Manchester 2020 are on sale now.
