What Great Product Manages Do (EVERY DAY!)

Excerpts from our conversation with The Best Product Person of 2017, Melissa Perri.

In the Now

> What are some items that great product managers do every day?

To me, the difference between a good Product Manager and a great Product Manager is a shift from an output to an outcome mindset. Great Product Managers focus on the end goal and challenge their assumptions every day. They seek ideas and inspiration from everyone around them. They hone in on the problem, and keep their eye set on the vision. They break down complex problems into smaller, digestible chunks, and rally their team to tackle them. This is not just a one time practice or output, like building a prototype or running an A/B test. Those are useful tools, but this is a mindset. Every day, great Product Managers question, learn, and then execute. To me, that’s the most important part of the job.

Watch now and see why she is counted amongst the ranks of the best in product management.
