A gangly wild-eyed man, with one slug for an eyebrow, lived in a trailer in Maine with his wife and two children. He taught English and wrote short stories to scrape a living by, and was once arrested for stealing traffic cones. That incident resulted in him being fined $250 for petty larceny, but he had no money to pay the fine until one of his stories earned a few bucks.
