Considering how quickly things change in tech — quantum blockchain, IoT & AI integration, passwords becoming obsolete in lieu of facial recognition, physical assets getting tokenized and the world gearing up for Mars — I’ve collated a list of tools and techniques to help stay up-to-date on changes in
technology and the industry in general -

  1. Techcrunch, Hackernews and more — Tech news, M&As, innovative business cases, new startups — so much to read, learn and do!
  2. Events, events and more events — conferences, hackathons, product and industry meetups, panel discussions, tech talks and more.
  3. Networking meeting with a wide variety of people, both from within your organization and outside. Keeping tabs on best practices and challenges faced by both technical, business stakeholders and domain experts.
  4. Mentoring meeting with other product managers, aspiring product managers, people from different sectors. Devoting your time to at-least one coffee meeting a week where you can help someone find their career path, or share some valuable insights from your experience. In return, you get to learn from others, build confidence and understand new perspectives.
  5. Implementing side projects — whether it’s helping your entrepreneur friend start a company or working on a side project; or even a crash course in a new technology/method of working can help you understand new business models, validate some hypothesis, create sustainable business processes, delve into new technologies and meet people from different spheres.

What are some of the other ways you keep track of technology in your part of the world?
