ONE THING on Roadmap Speaking

So you have created the most beautiful roadmap ever. It will drive your company into the stratosphere. It will make your customers cry with happiness. Only thing is: you have to do a presentation about it. Some tips:

Subscribe to my weekly Nano-letter:

  1. Start with why: Be sure everyone is on board with the product vision before you move on to details.

  2. Cover recent progress: Share recent wins and positive customer testimonials.

  3. Outline near term plans: Talk about what’s up next, how it solves critical problems, and how it aligns with business objectives.

  4. Touch on the long term: Mention possible future work, to show the story arc and help explain the vision.

  5. Add emotion where you can: Add stories of sales, support, and customer requests to help humanize the product and give meaning to why you’re doing this: (emotion + data + stories = win).

Remember to breathe. See Chapter 9 of my book, Product Roadmaps Relaunched. Any other tips?
