Source: McKinsey Global Surveys on the state of AI The years 2023–2024 saw an explosion of interest in generative AI (GenAI) — AI that can produce human-like text, code, images, etc. For instance, a 2024 Statista study noted generative AI usage in financial services jumped to 52% of firms actively using it (up significantly from 2023).
