I attended a local Agile development conference. My vision is to post this structure internally so everyone can see it and give verbal updates at our monthly all-hands meetings. Centralize KPI Reporting. The OKR approach doesn’t work without product KPI’s, and product KPI’s don’t work without measurements.
The Vision as a Tool. At a minimum, a good vision needs to identify three things: the problem you are trying to solve, who you are trying to solve it for and what outcomes you want to meet (evidenced by a solid, meaningful KPI). I think yearly objectives can be good to set the high-level vision of where you want to be in a year, but my experience has shown me that most teams simply experience too much disruption and variation over 12 months to make those kinds of commitments authentically, and still be relevant a year later. you do need a vision for the long term.
